The Ten of Wands is the tenth card of the wands suit in the minor arcana and represents a heavy burden, working very hard to achieve a goal, a heavy responsibility, releasing a burden and burnout. This card shows a situation where you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders and it’s starting to weigh you down.
It also signifies the end of this burden and that you may need to just hang in there a bit longer. The Ten of Wands is associated with the number ten which breaks down to one, so each number is connected to the energy of this card. The number ten is connected to things like completion, wholeness, success and the fulfillment of goals.
The Ten of Wands is connected to the element fire and the planet Saturn, as it’s associated with inner strength, endurance and fortitude. In love readings this card can represent things like carrying the baggage of past relationships or a partnership that has become burdensome.
The Ten of Wands Meaning
This card shows that you’ve reached the end of a long, arduous journey which has become burdensome and heavy. This card also shows that you’re approaching the point where you’ll be able to finally release this burden. So it’s also a reminder to hang in there and not give up just yet, as you may be closer than you think.
The image on the card shows a man carrying a large bundle of wands on his back which is so heavy that he’s hunched over. In front of him in the distance is a town that he’s slowly, yet surely, approaching. This shows that while his load has become quite heavy, he’s almost ready to release it and just needs to push through a little more.
So the Ten of Wands can also represent an understanding of how heavy something has become in your life and that it’s time to let go and release yourself. This card can also represent a time where you may need to dig deep and connect with your inner strength like never before in order to achieve a goal. It can be a message for you to not give up, believe in yourself and know that you do have what it takes to achieve this goal.
Therefore, when the Ten of Wands comes up in a reading it can mean that you’re carrying something heavy and that it’s exhausting you but that you’re almost at the end of this. Alternatively, the Ten of Wands can also represent things like being a workaholic, taking on too many responsibilities and a need to delegate things to others. Always look to the cards around it for clarification or to get a deeper meaning.
