Scorpio Zodiac Sign

Scorpio is the eighth sign of the zodiac and represents intensity, deep emotions, transformation, loyalty, sexuality, instincts, intuition and obsession. The dates for Scorpio season begin around October 23rd and last until November 21st.

Scorpio is represented by the symbol of the scorpion which is connected to the myth of Orion and the giant Scorpion that was sent to kill him by the Goddess Gaia. Both Orion and the Scorpion were commemorated through their own constellations. Because it’s represented by a Scorpion this sign can also be connected to the powerful sting of the scorpion which you don’t see coming.

Scorpio is a fixed, water sign which means that it doesn’t like change and instead prefers to commit, stick things out and follow traditional paths. This sign is ruled by Mars which is connected to things like ambition, independence, leadership, assertiveness and drive. Scorpio is a sign of deep emotions and when it loves it tends to love hard. Because of this, Scorpio is known for its ability to create long-lasting bonds with others.

Scorpio Sun

The Sun in Scorpio can make you someone who’s very deep, intense, instinctual and powerful. Scorpio is a sign that loves to dig beneath the surface like an investigator in order to expose the truth of something. The opposite sign of Scorpio is Taurus which is connected to things like stability, tradition, security and practicality.

Scorpio is more connected to power and intensity whereas Taurus is more connected to security and groundedness. Because of this, Scorpio can be seen as the more obsessive sign and Taurus can be seen as the more down to earth sign.

In the tarot, Scorpio is connected to the Death card which represents things like irrevocable change, transformation, rebirth and finality. The Death card represents a transitional process which involves a metamorphosis so that something can be reborn into a new form.

Scorpio is a very intuitive and instinctive sign which can easily pick up on subtle details and be able to read people well. This sign is sometimes connected to being a “human lie detector” because it can sense what’s going on beneath the surface. Scorpio is a sign that values deep bonds, intense connections and has an inner drive which can become obsessive at times.

Your Sun sign is just one aspect of you and so it’s important to consider your whole birth chart when trying to understand all sides of your personality.
