In the Chinese lunar calendar 2026 is the year of the fire horse which signifies a year of breaking free, powerful action, passion, ambition, independence, freedom and risk-taking. The fire horse is a dynamic combination that hasn’t occurred since 1966. In Chinese astrology each year corresponds to one of twelve animals and one of five elements including fire, water, earth, wood and metal. The year of the fire horse officially begins on February 17th in the Chinese lunar calendar. Up until then we will be continuing to shed the energies of the wood snake from the previous lunar calendar year.

In Chinese astrology the horse symbolizes independence, freedom, vitality and action. Combined with the element of fire, this brings an energy of speed, passion and boldness to a horse year. Temperance is the fifteenth card in the major arcana and represents patience, balance, mixing things together, alchemy, moderation and the middle path. Temperance is represented by the number fourteen which breaks down to five, so each number will have connections to the meaning of this card. The number fourteen is connected to things like independence, leadership, manifestation and enlightenment.

Temperance is connected to the element fire and the zodiac sign Sagittarius, as it’s associated with spiritual growth, a higher level of wisdom and consciousness, open-mindedness and going with the flow. This card can also represent a spiritual path towards enlightenment which is balanced and steady. 

This card is connected to the planet Jupiter which represents growth, expansion, wisdom and luck. Because of this, Temperance can also be connected to things like a process which needs time to develop and that it may be best to trust this process and allow things to come together naturally. 

Temperance Meaning

This card can show that something is in the process of manifesting, alchemizing and coming together and that your patience will be required throughout this. This card can also mean that taking the middle path or utilizing moderation in a situation may give you the best results.

This card can also act as a reminder that life is in a constant state of change and sometimes you’re on top of the wheel and sometimes you’re at the bottom.

This card is connected to the planet Jupiter which represents wisdom, abundance, expansion and luck. Because of this, the Wheel of Fortune can also be connected to things like a fortunate turn of events, good fortune and a balancing of the karmic scales.

The Wheel of Fortune Meaning

This card represents that a change of fortune is coming to your life which could be positive or negative depending on the other cards around it. This card represents a need to get in touch with your inner strength and resilience in order to overcome the challenges life throws at you and to not give up. The image on the card shows a woman, with the infinity symbol above her head, who’s very bravely trying to tame a lion.
