Judgement is the twenty-first card in the major arcana and represents an awakening, resurrection, judgement call, inner calling and reckoning. Judgement is represented by the number twenty which breaks down to the number two, so each number will have connections to the meaning of this card. The number twenty is connected to things like harmony, cooperation, diplomacy and teamwork.
Judgement is connected to the element fire and the planet Pluto, as it’s associated with a powerful wake up call or feeling as though you’re being called to do something. This card can also represent an experience where you feel compelled by some unknown force to take action.
The Judgement card is a call for you to step into your power and take the steps necessary to fulfill your destiny. This may be a time where you need to make some big decisions which will affect your life and life path for some time. So this can signify a time of great change in your life where you’re the one in the driver’s seat and the ball is in your court.
Judgement Meaning
This card can represent a call to action from the universe to follow the path of your higher purpose. Judgement is urging you to answer that call, as it’s divinely guided and to avoid it would be to avoid your destiny. This may require you to make some hard decisions but this is all part of your path towards soul growth.
The image on the card shows Archangel Gabriel descending from the heavens while blowing a trumpet. The sound of the trumpet acts as a divine call which is resurrecting the people below from their graves. On the card a naked man, woman and child stand up with their arms outstretched waiting to see if they will be judged fairly and allowed to enter heaven.
So Judgement can represent a time where you’re being judged for your actions and that it will be in your best interest to act with honor and integrity. This card is also connected to karma so when it appears there may be a karmic lesson or element which is helping you to evolve into a higher version of yourself. This can be a message to grow and evolve at this point on your path.
Therefore, when Judgement comes up in a reading it can represent an opportunity to break free of a karmic cycle and step into your power to become the person you were destined to be. Alternatively, Judgement can also represent things like not answering the call, a time of inner reflection, a loss of faith and procrastination. Always look to the cards around it for clarification or to get a deeper meaning.
