Knight of Pentacles Tarot Card Meaning

The Knight of Pentacles is the second court card of the pentacles suit in the minor arcana and represents steady progress with your goals, moving forward at a slower pace, consistency and planning. The Knight of Pentacles represents the pursuit of a material goal and the process of creating a plan of action to achieve this goal.

The Knight of Pentacles is connected to the element earth and the planet Mercury, as it’s associated with practicality, planning, making logical decisions, research and achieving tangible results. This card can also represent a person who is putting in real work and effort into achieving a long-term goal.

The Knight of Pentacles can show that you’re considering your options in the material world and searching for the one that will develop into something more. This card can show that you’re just at the beginning stages of this journey and that you may need to go through a process of trial and error in order to find the right opportunity for you.

The Knight of Pentacles Meaning

This card represents the sometimes monotonous and repetitive routine that comes with pursuing a long-term goal. This card shows that things like self-discipline and commitment will be required in a situation even if things become boring or dull at times. It’s about sticking something out and seeing something through in order to achieve a goal.

The image on the card shows a knight sitting on a horse that’s standing still. He holds a pentacle in his hand as he looks out over the land as if trying to decide where he wants to invest. In the background the land is wide open and vast signifying the many opportunities available to him.

So the Knight of Pentacles can also represent slow and gradual progress and a mentality of “slow and steady wins the race”. This card can show that continuing to move forward and put one foot in front of the other will result in a successful outcome. Creating a solid and realistic plan of action and then following that plan will get you to where you want to be.

Therefore, when the Knight of Pentacles comes up in a reading it can mean that you’re focused on pursuing a goal in a very practical, realistic and balanced way. Alternatively, the Knight of Pentacles can also represent things like stagnation, stubbornness, indecisiveness and perfectionism. Always look to the cards around it for clarification or to get a deeper meaning.
