The Eight of Pentacles can show that you’re working very hard to achieve a goal or develop your skills and that you’re committed to the process. This card can represent a time where you may be working on a project, learning to master a skill or building something.

This card symbolizes your work, job, career or a period of time where you’re working to master a skill. This card can also represent the daily grind and the consistent effort that’s required to achieve a goal or learn something new.

So the Eight of Pentacles shows that while you may need to discipline yourself to achieve this goal, you will also receive the rewards from your efforts.
Therefore, when the Eight of Pentacles comes up in a reading it can mean that you’re determined to achieve a goal and that with commitment and consistency you will be successful.
