Eight of Pentacles Tarot Card Meaning

The Eight of Pentacles is the eighth card in the pentacles suit in the minor arcana and represents hard work, apprenticeship, mastering your craft, diligence and commitment. The Eight of Pentacles is represented by the number eight which is connected to things like abundance, ambition, power and manifestation.

The Eight of Pentacles is connected to the element earth and the planet Mercury, as it’s associated with the tangible world and your interaction with it. This card represents hard work and effort, consistency and achieving success.

The Eight of Pentacles can show that you’re working very hard to achieve a goal or develop your skills and that you’re committed to the process. This card can represent a time where you may be working on a project, learning to master a skill or building something.

The Eight of Pentacles Meaning

This card symbolizes your work, job, career or a period of time where you’re working to master a skill. This card can also represent the daily grind and the consistent effort that’s required to achieve a goal or learn something new.

The image on the card shows a man working hard to create eight pentacles. His focus is on the task at hand, mastering his craft and completing his project. Behind him in the distance there’s a town although he has his back facing towards it showing how focused and determined he is to achieve his goal.

This shows the process of building something from the ground up and how each step needs to be completed in order to finish the task. This card can also represent a process of leveling up and building upon what you’ve already built. So the Eight of Pentacles shows that while you may need to discipline yourself to achieve this goal, you will also receive the rewards from your efforts.

Therefore, when the Eight of Pentacles comes up in a reading it can mean that you’re determined to achieve a goal and that with commitment and consistency you will be successful. Alternatively, the Eight of Pentacles can also represent things like learning a new skill, perfectionism, being a workaholic and a need to create more work-life balance. Always look to the cards around it for clarification or to get a deeper meaning.
