The Sun in Astrology represents your identity, vitality, life force, ego, energy, purpose and willpower. In the birth chart this planet represents the self as well as self-awareness, self-realization and individuation. The Sun will show your personality and who you are evolving into in this life.

This planet represents masculine energy as well as the masculine figures in your life such as your father or parent. It can also be connected to your health, strength, personal power and creative force or ability to manifest. The Sun is your light and the light you emit out into the world

Challenging aspects made to your Sun, such as a square, can show a need to overcome struggles in life and to achieve personal growth in the process. Positive aspects made to the Sun, such as a trine, can indicate a flow of energy which is helpful, supportive and harmonious.

Pisces is the twelfth sign of the zodiac and is connected to sensitivity, creativity, compassion, love, spirituality, intuition, healing, surrender and self-sacrifice. The dates for Pisces season begin around February 19th and last until March 20th.

Pisces is represented by the symbol of two fish swimming in different directions representing the very “flowy” nature of this sign. Pisces is connected to a myth involving the Goddess Aphrodite and the God Eros who were trying to escape the monster Typhon. The myth states that they called on the God Zeus for help and he turned them into fish so they could jump into the river and swim away.

Pisces is a mutable, water sign which means that it loves change and going with the flow. This sign is ruled by Jupiter which is connected to things like spirituality, beliefs, wisdom, luck, growth and abundance. Therefore, Pisces is also connected to things like being of service to others, generosity, acts of kindness and selflessness.

Pisces Sun

The Sun in Pisces can make you someone who’s very imaginative, kind, intuitive and sensitive. Pisces is a sign that loves to explore the creative, spiritual and emotional realms. Aquarius is the eleventh sign of the zodiac and represents individualism, intelligence, innovation, future-forward thinking, rebelliousness, independence and humanitarianism. The dates for Aquarius season begin around January 20th and last until February 18th.

Aquarius is represented by the water-bearer which is connected to the myth of the Trojan prince Ganymede who became the cup-bearer of the Gods. The myth states that Zeus wanted Ganymede for himself and decided to take him away to Olympus and make him the cup-bearer for the Gods. There he would pour wine and water for the Gods and was later immortalized through the constellation of Aquarius.

Aquarius is a fixed, air sign which means that it doesn’t like change and instead prefers to stick with something for a long time. This sign is ruled by Saturn which is connected to things like discipline, structure, maturity, knowledge and restriction. Therefore, Aquarius is connected to things like logic, reason, rationality and wisdom.

Aquarius Sun

The Sun in Aquarius can make you someone who marches to the beat of your own drummer and is also very original and unique. Aquarius is a sign that loves to go against the crowd, do things its own way and can be seen as the “trendsetter” of the zodiac due to its individualistic nature. Capricorn is the tenth sign of the zodiac and represents ambition, responsibility, hard-work, leadership, maturity and tradition. The dates for Capricorn season begin around December 22nd and last until January 19th.

Capricorn is represented by the sea-goat which is a creature that’s connected to many different myths. One of which is a Greek myth about the God Pan who was trying to shapeshift into a fish while escaping the monster Typhon. Only the bottom half of him transformed, making him part goat, part fish. This was amusing to the God Zeus so he decided to immortalize Pan as the constellation Capricornus.

Capricorn is a cardinal, earth sign which means that it feels called to initiate change and because it’s an earth sign it may do this in a practical way. This sign is ruled by Saturn which is connected to things like discipline, structure, stability and consistency. Therefore, Capricorn is connected to things like determination, security, following a traditional path and commitment.

Capricorn Sun

The Sun in Capricorn can make you someone who’s very serious, realistic and dedicated to your purpose or life’s work. Capricorn is a sign that loves to work hard and typically enjoys working in general, as it’s a purpose-driven sign. Sagittarius is represented by the centaur which is connected to the myth of Chiron who is known as the “wounded healer”. In the myth, Chiron was accidentally shot by Hercules with a poisoned arrow and although Chiron was a healer, he could not heal himself. In astrology Chiron is an asteroid which represents the soul’s wound in the birth chart or the wound your soul is working to heal in this life.

Sagittarius is a mutable, fire sign which means that it loves change, flexibility, learning new things and remaining open to opportunities. This sign is ruled by Jupiter which is connected to things like growth, beliefs, luck, abundance and spirituality. Scorpio is represented by the symbol of the scorpion which is connected to the myth of Orion and the giant Scorpion that was sent to kill him by the Goddess Gaia. Both Orion and the Scorpion were commemorated through their own constellations. Because it’s represented by a Scorpion this sign can also be connected to the powerful sting of the scorpion which you don’t see coming.

Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac and represents practicality, organization, rational thinking, being of service to others, detail-oriented thinking and perfectionism. The dates for Virgo season begin on August 23rd and last until September 22nd.

Virgo is represented by the maiden, or the “virgin”, which is connected to the Goddess Persephone and the myth with Hades, God of the Underworld. In the myth Persephone is abducted by the God Hades and taken to the Underworld where she becomes Queen of the Underworld. Her mother, the Goddess Demeter, then made an agreement with Hades to let Persephone spend half the year in the Underworld and the other half on Mount Olympus.

Virgo is a mutable, earth sign which means that it loves change, flexibility, learning new things and remaining open to opportunities. This sign is ruled by Mercury which is connected to things like communication, the exchange of information, the intellect, travel and technology. Leo is represented by the lion, as this animal represents the “king of the jungle” and is connected to the same regalness and royal energy that Leo is associated with. The symbol of the lion also comes from the Greek myth of the Nemean Lion who was slain by Hercules. After this occurred the memory of the lion was honored by Zeus through the creation of the constellation Leo.

Gemini is represented by the twins as it’s connected to duality and having two different sides to its personality. The symbol of the twins also comes from the myth of the brothers Castor and Pollux who were the sons of Leda, Queen of Sparta. Castor was the mortal son of King Tyndareus and Pollux was the immortal son of Zeus.

Gemini is a mutable, air sign which means that it loves change, flexibility, learning new things and basically doing “all the things”. This sign is ruled by the planet Mercury which is connected to communication, thinking, the intellect, travel and technology. Therefore, Gemini is connected to things like experimentation, research, problem-solving and versatility.
