Aquarius Zodiac Sign

Aquarius is the eleventh sign of the zodiac and represents individualism, intelligence, innovation, future-forward thinking, rebelliousness, independence and humanitarianism. The dates for Aquarius season begin around January 20th and last until February 18th.

Aquarius is represented by the water-bearer which is connected to the myth of the Trojan prince Ganymede who became the cup-bearer of the Gods. The myth states that Zeus wanted Ganymede for himself and decided to take him away to Olympus and make him the cup-bearer for the Gods. There he would pour wine and water for the Gods and was later immortalized through the constellation of Aquarius.

Aquarius is a fixed, air sign which means that it doesn’t like change and instead prefers to stick with something for a long time. This sign is ruled by Saturn which is connected to things like discipline, structure, maturity, knowledge and restriction. Therefore, Aquarius is connected to things like logic, reason, rationality and wisdom.

Aquarius Sun

The Sun in Aquarius can make you someone who marches to the beat of your own drummer and is also very original and unique. Aquarius is a sign that loves to go against the crowd, do things its own way and can be seen as the “trendsetter” of the zodiac due to its individualistic nature. The opposite sign of Aquarius is Leo which is connected to things like courage, warmth, charisma, vibrancy and leadership.

Aquarius is also deeply connected to humanitarianism and philanthropy and is known for its selflessness whereas Leo is more connected to passion, bravery and achievement. Because of this, Aquarius can be seen as the more altruistic sign and Leo can be seen as the more success-driven sign.

In the tarot, Aquarius is connected to the Star card which represents things like hope, inspiration, peace, spirituality and faith. The Star represents the calm after the storm and a peaceful inner sanctuary where hope can be restored. This card can represent healing and a time where you’re opening up to a higher vibration and going through a process of spiritual ascension.

Aquarius is a very unique and rebellious sign that values originality, innovation, being different and freedom. Because of this Aquarius can also be seen as eccentric, quirky and eclectic. This sign is connected to technology and future-forward thinking and is seen as being very ahead of its time. Aquarius is a very individualistic sign and many times you’ll find that Aquarius’s are even different from each other, in their own unique Aquarian way.

Your Sun sign is just one aspect of you and so it’s important to consider your whole birth chart when trying to understand all sides of your personality.
