Four of Pentacles Tarot Card Meaning

The Four of Pentacles is the fourth card in the pentacles suit in the minor arcana and represents greed, hanging onto something out of fear, materialism, fear of taking financial risks, saving money and control. The Four of Pentacles is represented by the number four which is connected to things like stability, structure, order and hard work.

The Four of Pentacles is connected to the element earth and the planet Saturn, as it’s associated with discipline, commitment, practicality and restriction. This card can represent the miser or an energy of not wanting to spend money out of fear, materialism and/or greed.

The Four of Pentacles represents a situation where you may be hanging onto something too tightly as you may feel like it gives you a sense of security. Although what this is really doing is preventing growth from occurring which can hold you back from developing, leveling up or evolving in some way.

The Four of Pentacles Meaning

This card can be a double-edged sword because it shows an ability to be good with saving money but it can also show greed and a fear of spending money. The Four of Pentacles also represents a fear of letting go and trying to control everything around you.

The image on the card shows a man sitting on a chair possessively holding onto a coin as if he’s afraid of losing it. There are also two coins under his feet and one on top of his head showing how attached he is to his money. He is seated outside of town representing how his intense focus on money has separated him from his relationships with others.

So the Four of Pentacles can represent fear around your sense of security and ability to provide for yourself. This card also signifies holding back when it comes to investing your energy and resources and being greedy with what you contribute. This can apply to many areas of your life such as your finances and spending habits but also your relationships with others.

Therefore, when the Four of Pentacles comes up in a reading it represents a need to utilize your resources wisely but to also have balance so that you don’t go into extremes. Alternatively, the Four of Pentacles can also represent things like a need to be conservative with your spending, letting money control you and a financial loss. Always look to the cards around it for clarification or to get a deeper meaning.

Spirit Animals

Snake Spirit Animal

The snake spirit animal represents things like transformation, regeneration, healing, wisdom, protection, temptation and deception. Snakes are creatures that will shed their skin once they start to outgrow it and a new skin will be formed in its place. Because of this they’re connected to the process of personal transformation and inner growth.

Snakes are widely misunderstood creatures and are often feared and so because of this they can represent your fears or feeling misunderstood by others. Snakes don’t do well in cold weather and will basically hibernate underground during the winter months. This process is known as brumation where the snake slows down its metabolism and goes into a dormant state.

So the snake spirit animal can represent a period of slowing down in your life as you may be preparing for a rebirth. Snakes are also symbols of fertility and can represent creative energy, inspiration and something new being birthed or manifested in your life. It can represent a fertile time period which will be good for planting new seeds and opening up to new experiences.

Spirit Animals Meaning

You can experience the energy of spirit animals through symbolism in your reality or by actually seeing an animal in your physical world. Receiving signs of a particular animal multiple times, as in a pattern, can mean that this animal has a message for you or that their energy can act as medicine for you. If you see an animal in your reality, especially an animal you don’t see often or is rare to see, it can be a big sign with a more powerful meaning or impact for you at that time.

Spirit animals can act as a spirit guide throughout your life or they can come to you at times when you need their specific medicine, wisdom and/or energy. If you tend to see a certain animal a lot or you have always felt a special connection and kinship with a particular animal then it may be one of your spirit guides.

Snake Spirit Animal Meaning

When the snake starts to appear in your life it can mean that you’re going through a transformation and your life may be changing in big ways. The snake is an animal connected to regeneration which means that you’re birthing a new skin and a new version of yourself. This also means that you’re releasing an old version of yourself and your life and starting a brand new chapter.

Snakes are known to have poor eyesight so they will use their other faculties to sense what’s going on around them. One of these is their tongue which they flick out of their mouth in order to pick up particles in the air. They also pick up on vibrations from the earth to help them discern what’s safe and what’s not around them. This can be a message for you to utilize your other senses and instincts in order to pick up on subtle clues in your reality.

The snake is calling for you to use your instincts and intuition as things may not appear on the surface exactly as they are. Snakes are also associated with temptation and deception due to their connection to the story of Adam and Eve. Because of this the snake can symbolize a trickster, enemy or “snake” in your midst and you may need to follow your instincts in order to discern this.

The snake is acting as a teacher for you at this time and is teaching you about the truth of your surroundings and the intentions of the people around you. So this can be a sign that the snake is calling for you to pay attention and lay low in order to allow people and situations to reveal themselves to you. Your instincts will be highly tuned at this time which can be your power in the various different situations of your life.

Snakes are also symbols of healing and wisdom which can represent a time of inner healing and transition in your life. So when the snake spirit animal starts to show up in your life it can be a message of spiritual guidance and an omen of great change to come which will completely transform you as a person.

Like with all spirit animals, the snake can have many different meanings for your life at a particular time. Listening to your intuition and gut instincts will help you to know which message the snake has for you.

Seeing a stag in the wild can be an awe-inspiring experience and it’s no wonder that stags are seen as sacred animals all over the world in many different cultures.

Stags are adult male deer with large antlers which symbolize a connection to the spiritual realm and the crown chakra. Stags, and all deer, are very agile creatures that run through the forest with confidence and ease, as the forest is their domain.

Despite their large size and masculine energy, stags are omnivores who mostly eat leaves, bark, fruit, grasses and small insects. So this can be a sign that the stag is calling for you to take charge of your life and navigate life’s challenges with dignity and grace.
