Spirit Animals

Hummingbird Spirit Animal

The hummingbird spirit animal represents things like joy, playfulness, lightheartedness, love, creativity and inspiration. Hummingbirds can fly in all directions, including backwards, and because of this they’re also connected to flexibility, adaptability and freedom.

Hummingbirds are known to have great memories as they will remember certain flowers and then return to them for nectar. Because of this they’re connected to being strategic, opportunistic and efficient. Hummingbirds are also associated with upliftment as it’s impossible not to smile when you see a hummingbird. So they’re also connected to positivity, being in the moment and not taking things too seriously.

So the hummingbird spirit animal can represent things like staying optimistic and remembering to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. Hummingbirds are high energy creatures which you can see by how fast their wings flap and how swiftly they move. Because of this hummingbirds can be a message for you to pay attention to your energy levels if you’re always “on the go” so that you can stay balanced.

Spirit Animals Meaning

You can experience the energy of spirit animals through symbolism in your reality or by actually seeing an animal in your physical world. Receiving signs of a particular animal multiple times, as in a pattern, can mean that this animal has a message for you or that their energy can act as medicine for you. If you see an animal in your reality, especially an animal you don’t see often or is rare to see, it can be a big sign with a more powerful meaning or impact for you at that time.

Spirit animals can act as a spirit guide throughout your life or they can come to you at times when you need their specific medicine, wisdom and/or energy. If you tend to see a certain animal a lot or you have always felt a special connection and kinship with a particular animal then it may be one of your spirit guides.

Hummingbird Spirit Animal Meaning

When the hummingbird starts to appear in your life it can mean that it’s time for you to lighten up, find your joy and/or connect to your heart and emotional space. The hummingbird is an animal connected to swiftness, speed, flexibility and traveling long distances. This can mean that it’s time for you to pivot, make a move or flow with life’s constantly changing circumstances.

Hummingbirds are known to visit 1000 flowers per day in search of nectar. This can be a message for you to stay open to different opportunities and be willing to go the extra mile to get what you need. Due to this the hummingbird is also connected to resilience, endurance and inner strength.

The hummingbird is acting as a teacher for you at this time and is teaching you about being lighthearted, dedicated, strong and flexible. The hummingbird can be a message for you to focus on the positive even when life’s got you down as this will motivate you to keep moving forward. It’s also a message for you to remember to also take care of yourself and your own needs in order to maintain emotional balance.

Hummingbirds are also seen as being messengers of spirit, or a passed on loved one, who brings messages of hope, love, joy, compassion and positive energy. So the hummingbird can also be a sign to stay optimistic even if things are challenging as there is always something to be grateful for. The hummingbird is small but mighty and this is a message for you to remember what you’re truly capable of and to believe in yourself in spite of your circumstances.

Like with all spirit animals, the hummingbird can have many different meanings for your life at a particular time. Listening to your intuition and gut instincts will help you to know which message the hummingbird has for you.
