Mercury in Astrology

The planet Mercury in Astrology represents communication, travel, technology, self-expression and the mind. In the birth chart Mercury represents your communication style, mindset, thinking patterns, intellect and learning style. Mercury will show how you communicate with others and what you prefer when it comes to communication.

This planet is also associated with many other things such as your day to day tasks, health, fitness, problem-solving and trickery. So Mercury can kind of be seen as the “jack of all trades”. In mythology, Mercury is the messenger God known for his swiftness and speed as well as his ability to travel between the realms of the living and dead.

Challenging aspects made to your Mercury, such as a square, can show a direct and sometimes challenging or even harsh communication style. Positive aspects made to Mercury, such as a trine, can indicate a harmonious, balanced and supportive communication style.
