Libra is the seventh sign of the zodiac and represents balance, justice, fairness, partnerships, cooperation, grace and diplomacy. The dates for Libra season begin around September 23rd and last until October 22nd.
Libra is represented by the symbol of the scales which is connected to Goddesses Themis and Astrea in Greek mythology, as both Goddesses are associated with justice and balance. This sign can also be connected to the Egyptian Goddess Maat whose scales of justice weighed the hearts of the deceased to decide if their soul was pure enough for the afterlife.
Libra is a cardinal, air sign which means that it wants to initiate change and get things moving and because it’s an air sign it may do this through communication. This sign is ruled by Venus which is connected to things like beauty, relationships, love, creativity and money. Libra is a sign of relationships and values being connected with others in many different ways.
Libra Sun
The Sun in Libra can make you someone who’s very diplomatic, fair, generous and who also values peace as well as justice. The opposite sign of Libra is Aries which is connected to things like independence, ambition, passion, leadership and self-reliance.
Libra is more connected to partnerships, cooperation, balance and working with others whereas Aries is more connected to autonomy, self-sufficiency and assertiveness. Because of this, Libra can be seen as the more peaceful, harmonious sign and Aries can be seen as the more aggressive, decisive sign.
In the tarot, Libra is connected to the card Justice which is associated with cause and effect, balance, justice and universal law. The Justice card represents karmic law and order, balancing the scales and that a situation will result in a fair outcome.
Libra is a sign that desires cooperation and harmony and because of this it’s also known to be agreeable, indecisive and avoid conflict. This sign is also connected to things like beauty, artistry of all kinds, design and a classic style. Libra is a sign that values balance, unity, cooperation, elegance and building relationships with others.
