Cancer is represented by the crab as this animal, while housed in a hard shell, has a soft and vulnerable interior body. The symbol of the crab also comes from the myth of Carcinus who’s a giant crab in Greek mythology who was sent to attack Heracles. The crab was then killed by Heracles and turned into the constellation of Cancer.
